Milling solid wood surfaces
Discussion Icon by SAT elkor at 24.09.2010 16:07

Hello.
we are milling surfaces on solid wood.
The machine is millin 0.25mm in each step, so we need to work in high feed speed.
The feed-speed programed on the MT manager is 6M/min but machine can not reach this speed.

I use to work on metall machining and can remember there was a G function wich enables to execute all the program lines whith no stops betwen each line.

Any solution for this?
Thanks for your help.

Hello,

first of all: What for a machine do you have actually? It helps extremely, if we know such a thing!

Is the length of your surfaces, which you would like to mill, long enough? The machine needs to achieve at least a certain distance around the feed speed.
Please check the potentiometer on the hand controller whether the adjustments at these with that at the screen agree (see picture poti.jpg).
If applies, please check the adjustment at the tool, if there is the feed speed (max) directly or higher than the feed speed which you want to use (see picture tool.jpg).

This function is called “G64 – look ahead” but we do not use these.

Thanks again.

Hello,

Is the problem with your feed speed meanwhile cleared?

Now, that we know what for a machine you have, we can say G64 is a SIEMENS function and you have a BECKHOFF-CNC. Not all G-functions are the same in Beckhoff control and just G64 doesn´t exist.
I have added an overview of all G-functions for Bechkhoff control.

What is your problem actually that you want to solve with G64? Perhaps we can help you differently.
