converter problem?
Discussion Icon by yassin mimouni at 27.11.2011 18:34

Hi everybody,

I have a 1436 SE primus edgebander and have the following problem:

2 days ago a fuse got cut out, so the glueheater wasn't working anymore.
When we put the fuse back on, it all worked (it heated up), but when the temperature was reached and we tried to turn on the machine (50hz --> 300hz), this failed.

Does anyone know an answer to my problem?

Regards

Yassin

Hello Yassin!
Please tell me which fuse has triggered exactly?
If you try to restart your Machine, what precisely happened?

If the static converter got a damage, try to disconnect the power supply from converter.
After that try to restart the machine.
Second possibility is a defective motor in machine. Try to disconnect every motor and restart the machine.

Hi Robert,

First of all, thanks for your fast reply.

We have already solved a part of the problem, the 50hz-->300hz switch is already working (sometimes), however after +- half a minute it fails.
Sometimes we push the button and it doesn't reacts however the light from the switch is on.
When I check the parts, all the (red) lights are out, except the one from the end trimmer.
I guess this means this part is broken?
Also the telemecanique (altivar 31) reads O.CF when this occures, which means there is a mechanical defect.

regards,

Yassin

Hello Yassin!

The thing with the switch (sometimes works, sometimes not) sounds like a problem with a loose connection, or something like that. This kind of problem is sometimes realy hard to find, try to reconnect every connection and check every used switching device for function.

The thing with the error message from ATV 31 "OCF" is problem with overcurrent on secondary side. In most cases there is a problem with defective ball bearings in a motor. You can check the current with current clamp, all three phases have to take nearly the same current.
If it is a defective ball bearing you can turn the affected motor by hand and can feel a higher resistence or rough operation.

With best regards
Robert

Hi Robert,

Thanks again for the fast reply!

I was wondering if there's a manual and/or wiring diagram of this machine?

I'm still looking for the solution for the problem, since I haven't had any time yet to take a look at it.
I'll let you know asap if I can get it fixed.

Regards,

Yassin
